Busting myths about AI that we see in film & TV production

October 14, 2025

When talking about AI adoption, there are multiple conversations that commonly come up.

We recently spoke to the team at Post-Perspective, who were interested in publishing a piece that addresses some of these myths, and that’s just what we’ve done. We’ve broken down and addressed the three most common-place myths; the impact on job losses, the environmental impact of the tools, and how it will impact creativity in the field of filmmaking.

The piece jumps into the detail about team composition and how AI’s role shouldn’t be to reduce a team of ten to just two people, but instead to allow the same team of ten to output the quality and quantity of a larger team. Like many of the ways in which AI can really help teams, it’s all about efficiency and delivering more for less.

One of the other larger myths addressed in the piece is the environmental impact of AI tools. This usually comes in the form of comparing a Google Search to a request of a large language or image generation model, which of course takes up more resources. But in a film production setting, the comparison of an image or video generation model should actually be the running of multiple design and rendering programmes. When you make that more realistic comparison, the myth is easily addressed.

To read more about these myths, and how production environments can most appropriately adopt AI tools, head over to Post-Perspective now.
