“On the Morning You Wake (to the End of the World)” is a VR documentary combining incredible visuals and compelling storytelling with volumetric video technology to depict lived experiences from the accidental “incoming missile” alert in Hawai’i.

Experienced through the Oculus Quest 2, it combines first-hand audio testimonies and volumetric capture technology to viscerally recreate the experiences of people who, for 38 minutes, had to make impossible decisions in the face of nuclear violence.
The nature of this project required human assets that felt organic, authentic, and natural to maximise the emotional immersion in each scene. This powerful experience was selected for festivals around the world and adapted for TV for BBC Storyville.
