OMEGA Race of Champions – Paris Olympics
OMEGA, the Official Timekeeper of the Paris 2024 Olympics, debuted its Games Pavilion with an interactive installation, 'Race of Champions', where visitors could race against digital replicas of real athletes on a 10-metre track.
Participants stepped into starting blocks, against an LED wall that simulated a stadium. There, they went head-to-head in realtime with MetaHuman Olympic and Paralympic athletes, including 2024 Men’s 100m Olympic Gold medalist Noah Lyles.

Working with Smyle, Dimension scanned athletes to create hyper-realistic MetaHuman avatars and built the stadium in Unreal Engine. The OMEGA Pavilion fused virtual humans and virtual production for a new way to connect audiences with the action.

We built an end-to-end stage pipeline with multi-camera processing, realtime tracking, a custom ML model for recognising diverse features and clothing, and a fully GPU based video processor to let participants share their experiences in record time.
