We’re in Austin for SXSW 2026 and back to bust some virtual production myths.
On Friday 13th of March at 2:30 PM (CT), Dimension's executive producer Neil Graham will be on stage at the Omni Downtown (Pennybacker) for Busting Myths: Why Virtual Production Isn’t What You Think, as part of SXSW’s Film & TV track.
Sitting alongside Neil on the panel Miles Perkins, Director, Client & Industry Relations, M&E (Epic Games), Annalise Davis, film producer (Yellow Films Ltd), and Lesley Manning, freelance director.
Within the industry, there are still a number of misconceptions when it comes to virtual production. Some see it only as a VFX tool or limited to driving in-car scenes or sci-fi worlds, while others believe it’s only possible for Hollywood-sized budgets. This session is intended to tackle those myths and give a clear picture of what virtual production can and can’t do (yet).
Drawing on real production experience, Neil and the panellists will demonstrate how it is a viable, efficient, and accessible option to all, enabling creative freedom. Neil will dive into how filmmakers can use it at every point of production, from script-to-screen, and share how to get the most out of pioneering digital filmmaking techniques.
If you’re heading to Austin, we’d love to see you at our panel. If you’d like to connect with Neil Graham, please get in touch to arrange a meeting.
