Inspired by the Emmy Award-winning series, “Yo Gabba Gabba!” creators Christian Jacobs and Scott Schultz have revived the family series featuring new host Kammy Kam on AppleTV+.

The team worked to build the fantastical world of Yo Gabba GabbaLand! to life in 3D, with Unreal content creation and on-set LED volume operation services.

AppleTV+ Yo Gabba Gabbaland!

Embark on a comedic, high-stakes journey through time and space with Time Bandits, an Apple TV+ adaptation of the 1981 cult classic film directed by Terry Gilliam.

The show’s premise, with bandits time-hopping through eras and locations as diverse as 1920s New York and Ice Age, was a perfect fit for virtual production.

Based in Wellington, New Zealand, Dimension and DNEG 360’s team was responsible for content creation (for previsualisation and in-camera VFX) and on-set operation of the LED volume.

Our content creation team used a combination of scanning and Unreal Engine to create stunning scenes such as the Ice Age, a Mayan village, and a recreation of Stonehenge.

Virtual production proved to be a creatively empowering tool for Waititi, Morris, and Clement, providing the flexibility and adaptability essential to the project’s evolving script and story. Time Bandits is available to watch on Apple TV+ now.

Set in Ancient Rome, Those About to Die is a gladiatorial episodic packed with swords, sport, and entertaining of the masses, starring Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins, developed by Robert Rodat, and directed by Roland Emmerich and Marco Kreuzpaintner.

The show was made using a mix of on-location shooting and a virtual production setup co-curated by Dimension and DNEG 360 at Cinecittà Studios, Italy. The setup features a 24-metre revolving stage and an 8-metre tall, 51-metre U-shaped LED volume.

Emmerich and VFX Supervisor Pete Travers fully embraced the technology, and as a result, our team delivered 1,800 final pixel shots, with fewer than 40 shots requiring any post-production.

Dimension supplied a volumetric virtual crowd, with 32,000 animated characters generated from 500 performances by 90 actors, captured using the Polymotion Truck (a mobile studio) - a partnership between Dimension and MRMC.

‘Those About to Die,’ is a showcase of realtime technologies bringing ancient stories to life with authenticity.  All ten episodes are available to watch on Peacock and Amazon Prime.

Coldplay and BTS sought celestial heights for their collaboration and otherworldly video "My Universe".

Both Coldplay and BTS were volumetrically captured on opposite ends of the planet, before their holograms were seamlessly intertwined - not only for the music video, but live on the finale of The Voice USA and onstage at Glastonbury 2024.

Holograms, spaceships, and two of the world's biggest bands are a hit. Eight million viewers were captivated by the performance on The Voice, while the music video sits at 288 million hits.

For Coldplay's headline show at Glastonbury 2024, BTS were projected onto the Pyramid Stage during "My Universe". This mixed-reality performance showcased volumetric capture on an epic scale, both for live and broadcast audiences.

 “Here” is based on Richard McGuire’s graphic novel, depicting the lives of people in a single room over thousands of years. The upcoming film is directed by Robert Zemeckis, written by Eric Roth, and stars Tom Hanks.

This virtual production feature demonstrates the endless possibilities awaiting filmmakers, efficiently shooting various genres and eras across five days.

From a Revenant-style, post eco-disaster drama, to a gladiatorial battle to the death in the Colosseum and an intimate Edwardian period piece, we set out to show how virtual production is empowering filmmakers to craft brilliant cinematic stories.

The Evolution of Virtual Production at Cinecittà Studios

Created in Unreal Engine, this adrenaline pumping campaign film was shot at ARRI Stage London using their LED volume to showcase the vision for the City Speed Park at Qiddiya City – an incredible new entertainment, sports, and culture capital.

Commissioned by Squint/Opera, the film visualises the forthcoming 21-corner race track, which is set against the Tuwaiq Mountains and will seamlessly blend into its environment. 

This campaign film engaged a global audience, with millions of viewers across platforms, 653 press articles across 50 countries, and 363.9 million reached on social media.

A live-action/animation hybrid, road trip comedy-adventure directed by Peter Atencio, starring Ryan Reynolds, Jason Momoa, Aubrey Plaza, Daniel Levy and Addison Rae.

Scheduled for release August 15th 2025, Animal Friends is a co-production from Dimension and DNEG 360.
